Where has the time gone?

Wow, I was reading through this thinking how fast the last year and a half has gone. When did time speed by like a train??? Well that baby Nigel is here, and he is not even sleeping in his room anymore. Both boys now occupy my bed most nights. My husband has been traveling like a crazy man, and I have been head spinningly busy!! Now its close to winter time and I need to gear up for this year coming up!

A Day and A Half

I really need Jiles to take his naps. We had a pretty good morning.... Going to the Montessori school I want to enroll him in for next year. He and his buddy both had meltdowns when they saw each other and realized they couldn't go play.
There is no way I can put him in this year due to our circumstances, but he can go next year.
He will do really well there I think, and we have always wanted to put him in a Montessori school as well.
Anyway, back to the naps. He opted out of one today. By 3:00 today... I was a ticking time bomb. How can one little person make you this crazy?
If my shirt gets bit or pulled one more time I think I may loose my mind!
By tonight though, all was well. He helped me paint Nigel's room and i have the sweetest pic of him looking like a mini Picasso. To be posted later!
I just wish he would listen!!!

Jiles and his musical tastes

So Jiles has a new soundtrack for the year, with some really great tunes....
Katy Hertzig /Hologram, How the west was won
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds/ Dig Lazarus Dig
The Cure/ Boys don't cry, Lovecats
The White Stripes/ Blue Orchid, Little ghost
Tori Amos/ Welcome to England? Fire on your Plain
Muse/ Supermassive Black Hole

Pretty nice list if I do say so myself....
He is pretty choosy and picky also about the loudness as well... HAHAHA!!! When did i start saying music was too loud?
"Turn it loud mom", " Can we listen to it again?"

long time...

Oh my gosh it has been forever since I have been on here! So much has happened already this year!
Jiles has become this amazing little guy who makes us laugh and shake our heads everyday!
A new way of reasoning has caused Scott and I to ask" What would Jiles do?"
Jiles is constantly figuring out the world around him and taking it all in!

Stop being distracted

So I will be the first to admit I am not a fan of racing cars on a train track, or getting down on the floor to play. I know I know, how so you have a kid and not get down in the trenches??? I FORCE myself to, and I inevitably will find a distraction. I have blamed it on the election, my business, those unending phone calls.....

Its not like we don't always have somewhere to go or something to do.... We are always busy.
I think I am bored with playtime. Just bored.

scootin' along

So I broke down and bought a new toy, if you will for myself... a razor scooter!!! Jiles was going so fast like a speed demon, and I couldn't keep up with him the other day. He totally lost control and has a shiner and nasty scrape on his hand... thank goodness thats all. I thought it would be better if I was on wheels too... hehehheheee!!

Being Told

So now that we are full fledged into the two's... I am now being bossed around by my little Backseat Napoleon. I will explain...
Whenever we drive in the car, it is a constant series of   "I want"s. I want to listen to Juno song, then "uver Juno song...(Juno soundtrack songs #1,13,18),Ian 'Cullough', Tori Avis(Tori Amos) Mr. Zebra being the favorite..... I want milk... I want snack. You get it, the list goes on....
I am grateful that his musical taste has not damned me to Disney hell, however, I have realized that I am so not cool when I would rather listen to NPR for 5 minutes than The Kinks for the 500th time.
I realize  now how exasperated my mother was with me. I can't blame Jiles for his tenacity and insistence... he is of course half and half of two very opinionated, "question all who think they have a right to say" parents.
We have always encouraged him to express himself and to show us what he needed. I'm not sorry that he can assert himself.
I just don't want him to become a brat.
We do attempt to talk him down from his  Me-Me ledge when its getting over the top.
I will say people really do enjoy him, and he is super friendly and charismatic....
I don't want to break his spirit, I just think this is his age.
There is forever an unmarried  childless single girl who still occupies part of my brain. She's nudging me between sips of her martini that I better be careful or else... I don't always rely on her advice. Any body with some sound advice?
Any mamas out there with some advice?
